We provide innovative education and care for young people aged 6–19 with complex needs, including Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and associated conditions. We're looking for a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team and make a real difference in the lives of our pupils.
Your Role: As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting our pupils' learning, wellbeing, and personal development. You'll help create a safe, nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting pupils with learning activities and care needs
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Encouraging independence and personal growth
- Assisting teachers in delivering a broad, balanced, and engaging curriculum
- Adapting to the varied needs of pupils and being flexible in your approach
What We're Looking For: We're seeking someone who is:
- Experienced in working with children with SEN (paid or voluntary)
- Flexible, creative, and child-centred
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
- Able to build warm, supportive relationships with pupils
Essential qualifications and skills:
- GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above)
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Knowledge of SEN, SEMH, or ASD
Desirable:
- Level 2+ qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
