Overview and Responsibilities

The Aurora Group is an innovative provider of education and care for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. We are currently looking for an experienced Full Time Teacher of ICT/STEM for our \’Outstanding\’ rated Aurora Hanley School starting September. The school supports young people aged 6+ with ASC, communication, and sensory needs. We offer life skills and a wide range of GCSE/BTEC qualifications alongside functional skills/entry level pathways. Behaviors across the school are excellent.

We seek an innovative teacher who can drive our approach and create engaging lessons to enthuse students. Strong ICT skills, a passion for technology, and the ability to share this with others are essential.

The Role:

As a Class Teacher, you will provide high-quality teaching that promotes academic, social, and emotional progress. You will foster a culture of excellence, equality, and high expectations, collaborating to develop innovative ICT/STEM approaches across KS2/3/4 and Post-16, integrating technology to enhance learning and real-world skills. You will ensure inclusive practices for young people with ASC and may deliver wider subject lessons. You will also implement school policies, including safeguarding and equality.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • PGCE, Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent, with evidence of in-service training.
  • Strong qualifications and experience in ICT, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Maths.
  • Excellent ICT skills and a passion for technology.

  • Ability to build nurturing relationships with students.
