We are currently looking for an experienced Full Time, Permanent Science Teacher to join the wonderful team at Aurora Hanley.
The Role:
With Science as a specialism, your role as Class Teacher will be to provide high quality teaching at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 that will enable pupils to make progress not just academically but socially and emotionally.
You will foster a culture that promotes excellence, equality and high expectations of all students.
You will collaborate with colleagues to develop an exciting, innovative approach to Science and support in delivery to achieve qualifications. We have specialist classrooms for science along with break-out spaces, sensory rooms and safe outdoor spaces.
You will ensure inclusive practice of teaching and learning for young people with ASC.
Naturally, you will take responsibility for implementing school policies and practices, including those relating to safeguarding and equality of opportunity.

Skills and Qualifications
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:
- PGCE, Qualified Teacher status or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
- Strong academic qualifications and experience in teaching Science as a specialism and ideally having experience of delivering science qualifications at Key Stage 4
- Experience of working in a special educational setting
- Ability to create and maintain strong nurturing relationships with young people
- Experience of managing a range of approaches to learning, to include the students with anxiety/reluctant leaners.
- Experience of managing a range of approaches to learning support
- Strong ICT Skills
