We are currently looking for a Night Support Worker in Meldreth (South Cambridgeshire / North Hertfordshire border Nr Royston), where our Aurora Orchard Manor offers a supportive living and learning environment for young adults with severe and profound learning difficulties and complex health needs. With specialist facilities and a focus on promoting independence, we support each of our young people through the transition from education into adulthood with a focus on person-centred programmes to promote independence.

We work with people with multiple disabilities who may have sensory and physical impairments who benefit from our specialist facilities that have been designed to meet their needs.

The role involves:

  • Providing the highest level of care for our young adults.
  • Checking on them all throughout the night and dealing with any incidents that may occur.
  • Ensuring that medical needs are met at all times.
  • Engaging in light housekeeping duties during quiet periods.
  • Assisting young adults to get up, washed and dressed in the morning.

The key to this role will be your ability to communicate effectively, build trusting relationships and provide the support required to enable our young adults to become more autonomous.

Although no experience is required, we are looking for candidates to demonstrate:

  • Ability to be creative in meeting the needs of the young adults.
  • Must be able to complete 2 weeks full time induction (Monday to Friday 9am - 5.30pm) plus 2-3 weeks shadowing on day shifts before starting night shifts.
  • Ability to work on a rota pattern which will include working every other weekend.
