Aurora Cedars School in Wolverhampton offers a bespoke education provision for up to 80 pupils aged 5-19 who have ASC/SEMH needs, some of whom require support with their speech and language and communication needs. We are looking for an enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to work as part of a therapy team at Aurora Cedars.

Main duties of the job include:

  • Working collaboratively with the staff to deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs.
  • Holding a small speech and language therapy caseload for the school.
  • Contributing to staff training, consultation and reflective practice.
  • Managing and prioritising caseload according to individual need.
  • Producing timely and concise clinical recording, maintaining confidentiality and the safe storage of both written and digital data.
  • Conducting comprehensive baseline communication assessments of all pupils.
  • Planning and implementing individual communication programmes.
  • Providing speech therapy interventions as required for individuals and groups.
