Aurora Cedars School in Wolverhampton will offer a bespoke education provision for up to 80 pupils aged 5-19 who have ASC/SEMH needs. The curriculum is creative and personalised for the pupils to ensure that we provide them with the best opportunities to succeed.
The Headteacher is looking for fun, passionate, dedicated, and driven staff to help support her vision for the pupils and the school environment. We are currently looking for an Assistant SENDCo to join our new school.
The role / Key duties:
- Supporting the SENDCo in promoting an inclusive approach to SEND across the school
- Co-ordinating and contributing to the Annual Review process for EHCPs, ensuring compliance and quality
- Developing and maintaining robust systems for identifying, monitoring, and reviewing student need
- Liaising with Local Authority EHCP coordinators, external professionals, and families
- Supporting staff to implement effective recording, reporting, and intervention systems linked to EHCP outcomes
- Contributing to communication with parents, including progress updates and review meetings
- Supporting the SENCo in delivering training and disseminating good practice in SEND
- Assisting with transition arrangements and integration for new pupils
- Ensuring that information about students is clearly communicated to support their progress, wellbeing, and outcomes

Experience and Qualifications:
Qualifications: English and Maths to Level 2 or above. Teaching qualification preferable but not essential, however teaching qualification is needed to achieve the National Award in SEND Coordination.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Relevant and recent knowledge and experience of working with pupils with SEN
- Sound working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
- Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
- Understanding or had experience of EHCP and the review process at school or Local Authority level
