Main Purpose of the Role: Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils according to the school's policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT. Support the day to day running of classes across the school and take the lead in the absence of a class teacher. Select and adapt appropriate resources/methods to facilitate agreed learning activities Reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers. Assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment Participate in the planning and evaluation of learning activities. Be a role model for new staff, supervising and guiding less experienced TAs. Further professional development by engaging in reflective practices and continuous professional development and appraisal, including attending all statutory training provided by the school. Contribute to the community life of the school by taking an active part in the preparation and celebration of both community and multi-cultural events. Respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and undertake duties and tasks to the highest ability in order to achieve the smooth running of the school. Please see our full job description attached Skills Qualifications What We're Looking For: The Higher-Level Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent Level 4 qualification or demonstrate equivalent skill level. GCSE Maths and English Language qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential. Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with SEN, SLD/PMLD, ADHD and ASD Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge.
