A New Special School in Derby! Are you a caring and enthusiastic individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
Location: Aurora Ryefields School, Ryefields, Derby
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent, Term Time Only
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday - Immediate start date (pending onboarding checks)
Hourly Rate: £12.87 to £14.03 p/hr
Ryefields is a brand-new, purpose-built special school in Derby, dedicated to providing outstanding education and support for children and young people with ASC and SEMH needs. Our vision is to create a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where every child can achieve their full potential.
As part of the Ryefields team, you'll play a key role in creating a positive and inclusive school culture right from the start. As a Teaching Assistant at Ryefields, you will:
- Support the educational, social, and emotional development of our students.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students engage in learning.
- Assist with the implementation of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Help to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Monitor and record student progress, contributing to reports and feedback for teachers and families.
Experience working with children, ideally in a SEND or educational setting (desirable but not essential). A passion for supporting children with ASC and SEMH needs. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Relevant qualifications, such as Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, are desirable but not essential.
