Location: Remote / Home Based (preferably in South of England). Some travel required to services – Long days and/or overnight stays – all agreed travel is expensed.

Due to our continued growth we are looking for a Data Protection Adviser to work under the guidance of our Data Protection Officer to help embed a strong culture of data protection and privacy across the schools, residential care homes, and central functions of The Aurora Group. You will provide advice, monitoring, and operational support to ensure personal data is processed lawfully, securely, and in line with organisational policies and statutory requirements.
Key accountabilities:
- Promote a strong culture of data protection awareness and good practice across the Group.
- Contribute to continuous improvements of data protection compliance through audits, projects and learning from incidents.
- Ensure statutory obligations for information rights and data breaches are met within required timescales.
- Provide effective oversight of data protection practices throughout The Aurora Group to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Please note that duties will vary and you will be expected to contribute to the overall aims of the team when required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- A good understanding of data protection principles and relevant legislation (UK GDPR / Data Protection Act 8 / Data Use and Access Act 5).
- Previous experience in a data protection role advising and supporting staff with data protection compliance.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
- High attention to detail and a responsible, ethical approach to handling information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Good IT skills specifically Microsoft.
