Contract: Bank/Casual Contract - 8 hour shifts (8.30am-4.30pm) – Flexible days to suit you!
Aurora Hedgeway is an inspiring and welcoming school for children and young people aged 7–19, supporting those with a primary or secondary diagnosis of Autism and associated social and communication needs. We're passionate about helping every student explore their unique potential, with provision spanning from Key Stage 2 through to Post-16, ensuring consistent support throughout their educational journey.
The Role
As a Bank Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students' learning, wellbeing, and personal development. Your work will help create a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment where every pupil can thrive. This includes:
- Building warm, supportive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Encouraging independence, engagement and positive behaviour
- Assisting with high-quality, differentiated learning activities
- Supporting the class teacher with daily classroom duties
- Responding flexibly to the changing needs of the school
- Promoting pupils' cognitive, social, emotional and physical development
- Working collaboratively as part of a multi-professional team
- Completing accurate records relating to behaviour, health or incidents

What We're Looking For
Essential:
- GCSE Maths & English (Grade C/Level 2 or above)
- Understanding of safeguarding & child protection
- Experience or knowledge of supporting pupils with SEN
- A child-centred, positive and creative approach
Desirable:
- Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning
- Previous experience as a Level 2 (or equivalent) TA
- At least one year's experience in a similar role
