We are looking to recruit a part time Receptionist to join our team at Fairway School in St Ives, Cambridge. Fairway is a warm and welcoming school which places student wellbeing and safety at the heart of our provision. Our building is a converted golf pavilion and we have adopted our vision of ‘Driving Futures Together’ from that sporting sentiment. Our students are aged 11-16 years old with a range of complex learning needs including social, emotional and mental health needs, speech, language and communication difficulties and autism.

Key Duties:

  • Welcoming and looking after visitors at reception
  • Managing telephone enquiries
  • Administration tasks such as diary management and taking deliveries
  • Organising meeting rooms
  • Processing pupil administration
  • Copying, collating, preparing and distribution of documents
  • Typing and setting up documents such as letters and reports
  • Keeping computer records up to date
  • Maintaining confidentiality and reporting any safeguarding concerns immediately
  • Managing post
  • Circulation of announcements as required

Please note that duties will vary and you will be expected to contribute to the overall aims of Fairway School when required.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Good level of literacy and numeracy (at least 5 GCSEs above C (or equivalent) to include English and Maths - Preferred)
  • Demonstrable experience of working in an administrative role
  • Computer literacy - Excel, Word, Outlook and Powerpoint and ability to use a range of databases once trained
  • Ability to manage own time to deal with multiple tasks
  • Discreet, confidential and reliable
