This is a very attractive proposition for sellers who need a quick sale.
The issue facing typical estate agents is competition, which means many cut their fees to 1% or less and overvalue properties, so only about 50% actually sell. Once a sale is agreed, it can drag on for months, and one in three fall through. This means the agent has to wait months for their commission or doesn’t get paid if the sale falls through.
With auctions, there is less competition, and fees are 2% (paid by the buyer). Sellers understand the concept of pricing competitively to create demand. We have an 89.9% success rate, and the buyer immediately pays a 10% deposit. The agent is paid within 24 hours of the auction, and the seller has the peace of mind that the sale will be completed in 30 days.
Suitable candidate: No auction experience is required; however, knowledge of the property industry is advantageous. The ideal candidate will be proactive and have a sales and/or marketing background.
