We are pleased to offer the opportunity to gain experience in our busy Academy Analysis department. We are able to offer two volunteer opportunities during the 2026/27 Football Season as follows:
- Masters placements – volunteering 20-25 hours per week on a flexible rota basis (will include evenings, weekend, and match day working).
- Undergraduate placements – volunteering 20-25 hours per week on a flexible rota basis (will include evenings, weekend, and match day working).
These are unpaid placement opportunities; reasonable expenses will be reimbursed (agreed in advance by the Company).
Placement Purpose
Each placement will offer unique learning opportunities within the season through set roles offering trust and responsibility. Those who are invited to interview will be asked to complete a small task to demonstrate their football understanding and their attitude to the professional game.
Academy Analyst
- To assist in the filming and capturing matches home and away throughout the week, working with all squads throughout the academy.
- To liaise and communicate with all relevant staff, where appropriate, to ensure that information, relevant to duties, is communicated effectively.
- To undertake filming and analyse training sessions.
- To undertake coding and editing footage using Hudl Sportscode for teams and individuals.
- To produce pre- and post-match presentations.
- To help in the collection, storage and analysis of key performance data for U9s – U23s.
- To contribute to the development of academy learning resources, including playing philosophy, coaching syllabus and best practice guides.
- To adhere to a strict code of confidentiality in respect of any information relating to Reading Football Club and its operation.
