The Head of Performance Analysis will be the senior analyst at the club and will manage and provide complete analytical support to the First Team. The Head of Performance Analysis will be an integral part of the football staff at the club and work very closely with the First Team Manager and other football staff to provide and present high quality information in a timely manner.

Location: The job holder will be required to work at the club's training centre at Moulton, as well as Sixfields Stadium. They will also be required to travel with the first team to all first team away fixtures and any other location required in the fulfilment of the role.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Working with the First Team Manager, gain a full understanding of the key principles and style of play of the club.
  • Manage a team of analysts, to include staff and interns to produce consistently high-quality analysis throughout the club.
  • Lead the profiling of all opposition teams through pre-match analysis, identifying key trends in structure, playing style, individual and team performance using data, reports and videos.
  • Present detailed profiling information to the First Team Manager and coaching staff to deadlines.
  • Conduct thorough post-match analysis on the team, units and individuals in line with the club’s key principles and playing style.
  • Attend all first team fixtures home and away to manage and provide live analysis to the coaching staff during matches and giving valuable insights in fast paced-pressurised environments.
  • Produce specific analysis projects as requested by the First Team Manager and coaching staff, to aid the development of the football department.
  • Ensure filming of all first team training sessions is completed to be used for individual development and to assist with game plan tactical preparation.
  • Stay up to date with the latest software and technology, and build and maintain strong relationships with software providers to ensure the club has the best possible resources to provide high quality analysis.
  • Build and maintain relationships with education providers to ensure a consistent supply of interns for use throughout the department.
  • Oversee and mentor academy analysts and analysis processes across the under 9’s to under 18’s age groups to ensure effective, efficient workflows and develop academy staff.
  • Take responsibility for your own continued professional development as well as that of the club’s other analysts.
  • Strictly follow the club’s policies and procedures in relation to the role.
  • Undertake such other duties and responsibilities as may be determined from time to time.

About The Candidate:

The following credentials are considered essential for the position:

  • A minimum of two years, full time experience, in an analysis role in a professional football club.
  • Minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree in sports related discipline or equivalent.
  • High proficiency in a variety of analysis software and other relevant tools (Hudl Sportscode, Hudl Studio, Wyscout, SBG Focus, SBG Matchtracker, Impect etc).
  • High level effective communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a high pressured and fast moving environment.
  • To work flexible hours as the role requires – including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

  • Based within close commutable distance to the club or willingness to relocate
