Chelsea FC Women are seeking an outstanding Head of Analysis to lead and evolve their world-class analysis function across the First Team and the wider women's football pathway.
Reporting to the Head Coach and Technical Director, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in translating the club's Game Model into actionable insights that drive performance, recruitment and player development, leading the performance, opposition and data analysis team while working closely with recruitment and academy analysis to ensure a joined-up analytical approach across the women's programme.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Women's Analysis department, setting strategy, standards and best practice.
- Manage and mentor a team of analysts across performance, opposition and data functions.
- Partner closely with the Head Coach, Technical Director and Recruitment team to deliver high-impact insights.
- Oversee match, training and individual player analysis aligned to the club's Game Model.
- Lead opposition analysis and contribute to game planning and match-day strategy.
- Drive innovation through data, technology and emerging analytical methodologies.
- Work closely with the Recruitment and Academy teams to align analysis frameworks and support long-term player development.
- Support the Head of Recruitment with analytical input as required.
- Manage departmental budgets, software platforms and analytical infrastructure.
- Champion a collaborative, high-performance culture across the club.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Significant experience (5+ years) in performance, opposition or data analysis within elite football.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams, projects and strategic departmental objectives.
- Strong understanding of tactical and technical analysis within the women's game.
- Expertise across industry-leading platforms such as Hudl Sportscode, Wyscout, Skill Corner, Stats Bomb, Power BI and Catapult.
- Ability to translate complex data, video and performance insights into clear recommendations for coaches and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- UEFA B Licence (or higher) and a degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Desirable: experience within the WSL or a comparable elite women's football environment, exposure to recruitment and academy analysis, UEFA A Licence, formal analysis or leadership qualifications, and additional language skills.
