About the Post
Location: Oakfield High School & Aspire College, Wigan. May also work across Federation sites.
Salary and Hours: Grade 4, £19,243 – £19,995 per annum (£13.26 – £13.90 per hour). 32.5 hours per week, term time plus one week of working (39 weeks per year). Required start: September 2026.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of the staff team supporting learning, wellbeing, and personal development of all learners under the direction of Senior Leaders and Teaching and Pastoral staff.
- Provide support within the general classroom setting or through individual 1:1 or small group sessions.
- Operate across any phase of the school; prior experience at each phase not essential.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with learners and staff.
Qualifications
- GCSE English and Maths, Grade C or equivalent and proof of relevant qualification.
- Desirable: some experience working with children.
- Willingness to undertake a Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Clear background check: Enhanced Disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
