We’re expanding, and we need a Payroll Coordinator who loves accuracy, thrives on pace, and wants to make a visible impact to join our brand-new head office in Pocklington. You’ll report to the Payroll Team Leader and be part of a close‑knit team that keeps our workforce running smoothly.

What you’ll get to do:
- Processing: Own weekly & monthly payroll for circa 700 PAYE employees, plus fortnightly payments for 200 subcontractors, with precision.
- Be the problem‑solver: Manage the payroll inbox, answer queries with confidence, and elevate when needed.
- Employee lifecycle: Set up starters, process leavers, calculate holiday, and action changes (pay rises, bonuses, commissions, deductions).
- Keep us compliant: Liaise with HMRC, support P11Ds and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP), and translate legislation into clear action. Produce regular and ad‑hoc reports that leaders rely on.
- Wider team support: Pitch in on HR projects and help us continuously improve how we work.
What you’ll bring:
- Hands‑on with Sage 50 (or similar), plus Excel savvy.
- Up‑to‑the‑minute knowledge of UK payroll legislation—and the calm, organised mindset to hit deadlines under pressure.
- A high bar for confidentiality, accuracy and clear communication.
