From distinguished art exhibitions to fine dining, live music, and an exceptional programme of events for members, the club remains at the heart of contemporary cultural life in London. We are currently looking for a Junior Pastry Sous Chef to come and join our team working in this unique and luxury setting in Mayfair.
About the role:
- Assist the Pastry Sous Chef and Head Pastry Chef in the creation and development of new pastry menus, ensuring innovation and excellence.
- Prepare, bake, and decorate a variety of pastries and desserts to the club's exacting standards.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Pastry Chef, ensuring everything operates smoothly.
- Train and mentor junior staff, fostering a positive and collaborative kitchen environment.
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Collaborate with the broader culinary team to ensure seamless service and high-quality delivery of all menu items.
- Contribute to inventory management, including ordering and stock control of pastry ingredients.
About you:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Junior Sous Chef in a high-volume establishment.
- A culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, including baking, decorating, and plating.
- Creative and innovative with a passion for experimenting with new flavours and dessert concepts.
- Excellent teamwork and leadership skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
