Building Inspector - Building Regulations Consultant

What you’ll be doing

Working with Design and Technical teams to influence design and specification decisions.

Provide guidance and support in fulfilling Designer and Principal Designer responsibilities in line with Building Regulations for both Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs) and non-HRB projects.

(You won’t be in a Duty Holder position directly).

Develop, implement, and manage processes, strategies, and documentation to demonstrate and track compliance with Building Regulations alongside colleagues.

Address design-related queries concerning Building Regulations and work proactively and collaboratively to identify and deliver effective solutions

Coach and train Design and Technical teams. Sometimes that might include travelling to meet colleagues, but not too regularly.

What you’ll need

Significant experience applying Building Regulations—potentially in Building control or inspector role Class 2 or above.

In-depth understanding of the Building Regulations, including updates introduced by the Building Safety Act 2022.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational abilities.
