As a Participation Programme Assistant you will also have the opportunity to connect with other colleagues within the Participation team.

What you’ll do: You will co-deliver training to staff at partner sites and mentors. You will support the development, co-production and delivery of a peer mentoring training programme, using your lived experience of mentoring to help train youth professionals and young mentors, enhance programme content, and contribute to improving mental wellbeing outcomes for children and young people. You will be closely supported by our multidisciplinary AMBIT team, which is made up of clinicians, trainers and practitioners in the field of child mental health.

What you’ll bring: Essential skills and experience:

• Experience of mentoring young people, ideally through a peer mentoring or youth programme.
• Good communication skills, with confidence speaking to groups and sharing your experiences.
• Ability to work well with others and build positive relationships with young people, colleagues and partners.
• Good organisational and IT skills, with the ability to manage your time effectively and travel to partner sites when required.

Key details: Hours: flexible, as and when required – a mixture of daytime and evening sessions. Pay rate: £15.64 per hour. Location: hybrid working (a mixture of onsite and home/remote working). Most work will be at partner sites in Cambridgeshire or London (travel expenses paid). Travel will be required for attending steering groups and training. Occasionally working at our London site (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH). Contract type: zero hours – starting in September 2026. The programme is expected to run across two years.
