Exciting opportunity for a Course Tutor – DNP & Module Co-Lead (MPDP) to join our world-leading mental health charity for children, young people and their families on a part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join an internationally recognised postgraduate programme delivered in partnership with Anna Freud, UCL and Yale University. You will help shape the curriculum, collaborate with leading academics, clinicians and researchers, and support a small cohort of highly engaged students. With flexible hybrid and part-time working, this role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your academic career while making a meaningful impact on child mental health.

What you’ll do:

  • Co-lead the Multiple Perspectives in Child Development module, helping to design, deliver and continuously enhance teaching across the academic year.
  • Deliver high-quality postgraduate teaching, including lectures, seminars and the coordination of guest speakers, ensuring course content reflects current research and practice.
  • Lead and support student assessment, developing assessments, marking coursework and dissertations, participating in moderation processes and contributing to Exam Boards.
  • Provide pastoral support and academic guidance, acting as a personal tutor and fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment for a diverse student cohort.
  • Contribute to the ongoing success of the programme by supporting admissions, quality assurance, programme administration and continuous improvement alongside colleagues across Anna Freud, UCL and Yale University.

What you’ll bring:

  • Hold a PhD in Psychology or a related discipline, and/or a child clinical qualification at Master’s level or above, with excellent knowledge of child development.
  • Demonstrate teaching experience at postgraduate level, with the ability to develop engaging teaching materials, facilitate seminars and deliver high-quality learning experiences.
  • Have a strong understanding of at least one major theoretical approach to developmental psychology, alongside an interest in interdisciplinary perspectives.
  • Be experienced in providing pastoral support to students, with excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
  • Work effectively both independently and collaboratively, bringing a proactive approach to programme development and a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

Key details:

  • Hours: Part-time (14 hours per week across the year with a minimum of 2.5 hours weekly teaching in-person, during term time).
  • Salary: £51,245 FTE per annum, plus 6% contributory pension scheme.
  • Location: Hybrid (a mixture of home/onsite working): staff are working onsite for at least 20% of their working hours, at our London site (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH).
  • Contract type: Permanent.
