Overview

Assistant Event Manager (Virgin Media Gamepad, The O2). We’re looking for someone who lives and breathes gaming – you’re a tech wizard ready to work with consoles, PCs, digital screens, livestreams and more, able to quickly troubleshoot any tech issues and assist clients with a deep understanding of video games. You’ll be joining a tight-knit team of gaming industry pros to deliver events, brand activations, tournaments and more at Virgin Media Gamepad. You’ll be the go-to person for setting up live-streams, installing new gaming tech, creating sleek event recaps, and assisting with day-to-day running of the space. This position involves a mix of weekday, evening, and weekend shifts shared amongst the team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Daily management of the space, overseeing technical/gaming aspects and addressing issues proactively
  • Using strong tech knowledge to assist with live-stream setup, gameplay recordings, podcasts, filming, etc. as a key part of the role
  • Building and managing relationships for ASG with clients, partners, senior stakeholders and agencies
  • Maintaining systems within the space, ensuring things run smoothly on the floor, providing feedback and improvements to enhance the space
  • Assisting with off-site events and other ASG clients when required
  • Managing a team of 40+ staff by conducting staff appraisals, assisting with gaming/tech/customer service, and acknowledging and rewarding great work
  • Using a highly detailed and organised system to store files, stats, and creative resources
  • Delivering exceptional customer service and upholding company values of integrity, innovation, teamwork, and accountability

  • Top-notch tech skills, able to troubleshoot any new problems across a wide array of tech
  • Genuine passion for games, with knowledge of the gaming industry and trends
  • Exceptional customer service skills, driven to deliver the best experience for guests

  • Creative-minded, able to pull together sleek decks & presentations following brand guidelines
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, OneDrive, Canva a plus
