About the Analyst
The Analyst started life in 2010 as a blog run by buy-side analysts obsessed with stock picking, forensic research, and uncovering what others missed - calling out bad governance, spotting accounting tricks, and catching inflection points ahead of the market. That mindset still drives everything we do. Today, we're a leading independent equity research provider, delivering differentiated, high-conviction ideas to an exclusive client base of some of the world's leading mutual funds and hedge funds. We've grown, refined our processes, and expanded our coverage - but we've never compromised on our independence or the rigour behind our work.
Today, we're a close-knit team of 18 spanning Research, Sales, Compliance, Finance, Creative, and Operations. We work in a lean, collaborative way - people are trusted to take ownership, contribute ideas, and have genuine impact. Our Research team currently consists of four Senior Analysts (including our Founder/CEO), one Analyst, and one Junior Analyst. As we continue to grow, we're hiring at both Analyst and Junior Analyst level.
The Role
This is not a conventional graduate scheme. We deliver high-impact, actionable investment ideas directly to senior and influential clients, and you'll be part of that process from day one. We're looking for a recent graduate who is intellectually curious and genuinely passionate about equity markets. You'll support our research and publication processes, working closely with analysts, senior analysts, and our Founder/CEO. As you gain experience and demonstrate strong performance, there are real opportunities to take on greater responsibility in stock analysis and client interactions, with a clear pathway to a Research Analyst role. We'll support you throughout with mentorship, on-the-job learning, and external training, including sponsoring the CFA programme.
What You’ll Do
- Work closely with analysts to support our publishing process, ensuring clients receive first-class investment insights and a high standard of written product on a timely basis.
- Collate and coordinate research periodicals, including our weekly publication.
- Under the direction of a senior analyst: input data into proprietary financial models to produce charts, dashboards, and supporting material; collect, interpret, and present company data.
- Conduct primary and field research.
- Participate in team meetings and events, building your knowledge and presence in the team over time.
What We’re Looking For
- This is likely to be your first equity research role.
- Driven and entrepreneurial spirit, initiative, curiosity, and ambition.
- Desire and aptitude to work within equity markets.
- Independent thinker who thrives on challenges.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Keen eye for detail without losing the big picture.
- Ability to communicate effectively and express complex ideas succinctly.
- High standard of written English, both in your own writing and when proofreading others.
- Strong analytical skills with a track record of academic or professional excellence. Whether or not your degree is in a finance discipline, you will be able to demonstrate your passion for investing with a baseline level of understanding of financial markets and reporting.
- Willingness to study towards the CFA and other relevant programmes.
- Data science skills are desirable but not required.
Training & Development
We'll support you with a bespoke, structured training plan designed to help you grow into a research analyst. The most important part of your development will be working alongside our experienced senior analysts, with real responsibility from day one. We are fortunate to count many of the world's leading investors among our client base - you will learn not only from your colleagues but by sharing your ideas with, and having them challenged by, some of the most rigorous investors in the industry. We provide full sponsorship to study for the CFA programme and will work with you to identify any additional courses or qualifications that will benefit your development. Over time, there are real opportunities for increased responsibility and progression within equity research.
How We Work
As a small team, we rely on trust, ownership, and open communication. We keep things lean and collaborative - decisions are made quickly, responsibilities are shared, and everyone is encouraged to contribute ideas across the business.
Location & Working Pattern
This role is based in our Clapham North office, four days a week (Monday–Thursday), with Fridays remote. Being in the room matters to us - it helps us move quickly, share context easily, and solve problems together more effectively. Wednesdays are our main collaboration day when the whole team is in together. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
