About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact, actionable investment ideas delivered directly to senior and influential clients. As an entry-level role, this position is ideal for a recent graduate with a passion for investing and a keen eye for detail. You will support research and publication processes, working closely with analysts, senior analysts, and our founder/CEO. As you gain experience and demonstrate strong performance, there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility in stock analysis and client interactions, with a potential pathway to a research analyst role in the future. We will support you through this journey with mentorship, on-the-job and external training, including sponsoring the CFA programme.
This role reports to the Head of Research and is available for an immediate start. Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with analysts to support our publishing process, ensuring clients receive not just first-class investment insights but also a high standard of written product on a timely basis
- Collate and coordinate research periodicals, including our weekly
- Carry out research tasks under the direction of a senior analyst, including:
- Financial modelling: input data into proprietary financial models to create charts, dashboards, and supporting material.
- Collect and interpret company data
- Conducting primary or field research
- Participating in team meetings and events as you build up your experience and knowledge
Relevant Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
Criteria we are looking for:
- This is likely to be your first equity research role
- Driven and entrepreneurial spirit, initiative, curiosity, and ambition
- Desire and aptitude to work within equity markets
- Independent thinker who thrives on challenges
- Excellent analytical skills
- Keen eye for detail without losing the big picture
- Ability to communicate effectively and express complex ideas succinctly
- High standard of written English, both in your own writing and when proofreading others
- Strong analytical skills with a track record of academic or professional excellence. Whether or not your degree is in a finance discipline, you will be able to demonstrate your passion for investing with a baseline level of understanding of financial markets and reporting
- Willingness to study towards the CFA and other relevant programmes
- Data science skills are desirable but not required
Work Environment & Location
- This role requires working in our Clapham North office four days a week (Monday-Thursday), with Fridays typically remote.
- Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
Training and Development
We have developed an “Analyst Academy” that will support your growth and learning as an analyst and offer you a bespoke and structured training programme that aims to develop the best research analysts in the industry.
The most important part of your training will be working alongside our experienced senior Analysts. We are fortunate to count many of the world’s smartest investors amongst our client base. We provide full sponsorship to study for CFA qualifications and will also work with you to determine any additional courses/qualifications that will benefit your development. This will not be a conventional graduate scheme. Over time, there are opportunities for increased responsibility and progression in equity research.
