We are recruiting multiple High Intensity CBT (HICBT) training posts to undertake the Postgraduate Diploma in CBT course. Successful applicants will either attend Newcastle University starting October 2026 or Teesside University from the second week in January 2027. They will be expected to start the role prior to training (ideally August 2026 for the October course) to allow time for a comprehensive induction. They will attend university and receive allocated study leave through term time, while carrying an appropriate clinical caseload. Salary starts at £31,000 and increases to £38,000 once qualified.

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Must be a recognized core profession by BABCP, or have BABCP registration with at least 2 years post‑qualification experience if a PWP, or 2 years post‑qualification experience if a counsellor.
  • For applicants without a BABCP recognised core profession, entry via the KSA route is required, demonstrating knowledge, skills and attitudes.
  • Enhanced DBS checks apply.
  • Applicants must meet the High Intensity IAPT CBT Trainee recruitment requirements or will not be considered for shortlisting.
