This is a rapidly evolving service which currently supports patients who are eligible for ADHD assessment, diagnosis and treatment in Crawley. The post holder will provide clinical leadership to the ABC ADHD Service in Crawley, West Sussex. The service works closely with GP practices, PCNs, hospitals, community organisations and the third sector to deliver an integrated approach that offers the support and expertise needed to effectively serve our populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead clinical delivery for the service, including potential expansion to multiple locations across West Sussex.
  • Support the development of the ADHD team, identifying and addressing knowledge gaps through education and training.
  • Work with the Service Manager to identify needs of interprofessional team members and strengthen service delivery.
  • Keep up to date with national guidance for ADHD and translate it into local practice.
  • Bring knowledge and clinical leadership around specific health needs of the ADHD population.
  • Identify and develop new pathways to enhance patient care by building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure cascading of clinical information within the service and to external partners.
  • Understand, identify and respond to safeguarding issues specific to the population and setting.
  • Conduct and oversee audits to ensure clinical KPIs are measured and met.
  • Share best practice regionally and nationally through presentations and papers.
  • Support the Head of Service in evolving the service in line with current strategy.
  • Work alongside the Service Manager to develop placement opportunities for learners.
  • Assist with health needs queries from partners in the voluntary sector.
  • Represent the organisation at internal and external meetings relevant to the role.
  • Provide clinical oversight of the service.
  • Support local practices with training and practice meetings.
  • Respond to complaints and clinical incidents and implement service improvements.

Candidate Profile:

  • Patient‑focused and treats all patients with dignity and respect.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative to develop and evolve services.
  • Interest in working with the ADHD population.
  • Ability to motivate a team.
  • Effective communication skills in challenging situations.

Desirable Experience & Skills:

  • Knowledge of specific health needs and medication management for ADHD patients.
  • Awareness of communication needs and impact on work/housing.
  • Experience working within clinical governance frameworks.
  • Experience of working within West Sussex.
  • Clinical leadership of a multi‑disciplinary team, including decision making in mental health scenarios.
  • Designing and developing new patient services and pathways.
  • Identifying and addressing patient safety issues.
  • Clinical supervision of a multi‑disciplinary team (GPs, nurses, pharmacists, mental health workers).
  • Experience with IT clinical systems (S1, Heidi).
  • 5+ years post‑CCT experience in ADHD assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
  • Demonstrable clinical leadership with ability to motivate and support a diverse team.
  • Medication management and prescribing pathways experience.
