Alliance Norse is currently recruiting for an Interim Compliance Manager to join the team on a fixed term basis, 37 hours per week Monday to Friday. As the Compliance Manager at Alliance Norse, you will play a crucial role in overseeing compliance for houses and public buildings across High Peak Borough Council and Staffordshire Moorlands District Council. Leading a team of Compliance Officers, you will ensure that all properties meet regulatory standards, manage external contractors, and drive continuous improvement in compliance processes.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and support a team of Compliance Officers. Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high-quality execution of compliance activities.
- Regulatory Oversight: Ensure all properties comply with health and safety, fire safety, and environmental regulations. Develop and implement compliance strategies that align with legal requirements and industry best practices.
- Contract Management: Oversee the procurement and performance management of external contractors. Ensure compliance with contract terms and health and safety standards.
- Audit and Inspection: Conduct and oversee regular audits and inspections at various sites. Travel to council properties and public buildings to review compliance and quality standards.
- Compliance Documentation: Ensure accurate completion of all compliance paperwork and maintain up-to-date records in relevant systems/databases.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal teams, external contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure effective coordination and resolution of compliance matters.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor contractor performance against service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs). Hold regular review meetings to discuss performance and improvement plans.
Education: Degree, HND, or HNC in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Significant experience in building compliance and contractor management. Proven track record in a leadership role with team management responsibilities.
Certifications: Relevant health and safety certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar. Experience with gas, electrical, asbestos, and CDM regulations is required.
Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of building regulations, health and safety standards, and compliance practices. Familiarity with landlord obligations and repairing regulations.
Skills: Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills. Excellent organizational abilities with the capability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Other Requirements: Full UK driving licence, CSCS card, First Aid certification, and Fire Marshal training are essential. Must be comfortable with regular site visits for audits and inspections.
