The Alice Lisle is a listed pub set in the New Forest countryside. Something of a dining destination, the pub has a great reputation for food, attracting a diverse mix of customers including families, walkers and local foodies. We have big plans for The Alice Lisle, and we are looking for a sharp, sales-driven Head Chef to help us execute them. We love where we are in Ringwood, and our goal is simple: to make our pub the definitive place to be in the New Forest for any occasion, deeply rooted in the local community.

We’ve just launched Betty, our brand-new pizza truck out in the garden, and we want to seriously expand our events and outdoor offering. You will be stepping in to take full control of the food operation, working alongside Dan, Luke, and Ollie to drive sales and push the business forward. If you are naturally competitive, commercial-minded, and thrive on the pace of a busy kitchen, this is the perfect spot to make your mark.

What we look for:

  • Commercial Drive: You genuinely care about the numbers, know how to build a menu that sells, and actively look for ways to grow food sales.
  • Menu & Event Creativity: Someone excited to maximize our seasonal, local main menu while finding creative ways to utilize Betty in the garden for events.
  • Strong Leadership: You set exceptionally high standards, communicate clearly, and stay calm when the kitchen gets fast and high-pressure.
  • The Fundamentals: Deep food knowledge, total pride in kitchen hygiene/safety, and a passion for fresh, consistent cooking.

What we offer:

  • We are part of the Fuller’s family, which means you get the backing, career paths, and structure of a great company alongside our independent pub vibe.
  • Discounts: 25% off food and drink across all Fuller’s pubs and hotels for you, friends, and family (increasing to 30% after 1 year, 35% after 3 years, and 40% after 5 years).
  • Tips & Extras: A fair share of tips paid on top of your competitive salary, plus discounted hotel stays across the estate.
  • Flexible Pay: Access up to 35% of your earnings as you earn them via Wagestream rather than waiting for payday.
  • Health & Perks: A Healthcare Cash Plan after one year (including a 24-hour GP service and dental/optical cashback), plus 'My Fuller’s' retail and gym discounts.
  • Development: A full induction and continuous professional learning programs to help you progress.
