Graduate Cambridge, our landmark hotel set right on the banks of the River Cam, is looking for Casual Servers to join the floor team. If you want hospitality work that fits around your life, whether you're a student, building experience, or simply love a busy service, this is one of the most beautiful places in the city to do it. Pick up shifts that suit you, earn an OTE of £13.55 per hour, and be part of a team that takes real pride in looking after every guest.
We're White Rabbit Hospitality, the team behind some of the UK's most celebrated hotels and restaurants. At Graduate Cambridge, that reputation comes to life across Garden House and our wider food and beverage offer, where warm, characterful hospitality meets one of the finest riverside settings in England. As a Casual Server, you'll be the face of all of it.
Why this role is different
This is hospitality on your terms. As a Casual Server, you'll have the flexibility to pick up shifts that work around your studies, your second job or your family, while still being part of a proper team with proper standards. You'll work breakfasts, lunches, dinners and events, build genuine skills you can take anywhere, and do it all in a setting guests travel across the country to enjoy.
What we stand for
- HOSPITALITY IS AT OUR CORE: Every guest you serve is at the heart of someone's day out, celebration or quiet morning by the river. You make them feel genuinely welcome from the first hello.
- WE DO THE RIGHT THING: You look after your guests, your teammates and the standards, even on the busiest shift and even when no one is watching.
- WE PURSUE EXCELLENCE: You sweat the details, the clean glass, the right order, the well-timed plate, because that is what turns a good service into a great one.
- WE ARE ALL ENTREPRENEURS: You spot the chance to make a guest's visit better, suggest the extra coffee or the dessert, and take ownership of your section like it's your own.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming guests warmly and making sure they feel looked after from arrival to goodbye.
- Taking and delivering food and drink orders accurately and with a smile.
- Setting up and clearing tables to a high standard across breakfast, lunch, dinner and events.
- Knowing the menu well enough to answer questions and make confident recommendations.
- Handling allergen and dietary requests with care, following our procedures every time.
- Supporting your teammates and keeping service running smoothly when it gets busy.
- Helping create the kind of experience that earns five-star reviews and loyal regulars.
What we're looking for
- A warm, friendly personality and a genuine love of looking after people.
- Reliability and a positive attitude, especially during peak service.
- The flexibility to work a mix of shifts, including weekends, evenings and events.
- Previous server, waiting or hospitality experience is welcome, but attitude matters most.
- The ability to stay calm, organised and cheerful under pressure.
- The Right to Work in the UK.
What we offer
- An OTE of £13.55 per hour.
- Genuinely flexible casual shifts that fit around your life.
- A stunning riverside workplace in the heart of Cambridge.
- Full training and the chance to build skills across food, drink and events.
- Team member discounts across the wider White Rabbit Hospitality portfolio.
- A supportive, friendly team and a People Team that has your back.
- A foot in the door of one of the UK's most exciting hospitality groups.
