Early mornings, big flavour, and a kitchen that sets the tone for the whole day. We are looking for a Part-Time Breakfast Chef to join the team at EVE, the vibrant, Mediterranean-inspired restaurant at Ember Locke Kensington. This is a genuine opportunity to own a service, work with brilliant produce, and be home by early afternoon, all while cooking in one of West London's most design-led dining rooms.

Breakfast at EVE is not an afterthought. It is a proper service with a proper menu, seasonal, Mediterranean-leaning and cooked to order, served to hotel guests and Kensington locals who know where to find a good plate of eggs. You will run it with a small, tight team and a Head Chef who will back you, train you and give you room to bring your own ideas to the pass.

Our Values, In Every Service:

  • HOSPITALITY IS AT OUR CORE. You cook for people, not for tickets. You understand that a guest's first meal of the day sets up everything that follows.
  • WE DO THE RIGHT THING. You hold the line on hygiene, allergens, labelling and food safety, every single shift, without shortcuts.
  • WE PURSUE EXCELLENCE. You care about the temperature of the plate, the set of the egg and the consistency of the last cover as much as the first.
  • WE ARE ALL ENTREPRENEURS. You spot the waste, the better prep method or the specials idea, and you speak up.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Running breakfast service at EVE, from mise en place through to a clean, organised handover to the lunch team.
  • Preparing and cooking a fresh, seasonal breakfast and brunch menu to consistent brand specification.
  • Managing your own section with pace and accuracy during peak covers.
  • Taking deliveries, checking quality, rotating stock and keeping wastage low.
  • Owning the cleanliness and organisation of your section, including full compliance with food safety and HACCP standards.
  • Recording allergen and dietary information accurately and communicating clearly with the front of house team.
  • Supporting the Head Chef with prep, stock counts and menu development ideas.
  • Working safely, tidily and respectfully alongside a small team where everybody pulls their weight.

What Do You Need?

  • Previous experience as a Breakfast Chef, Commis Chef or Chef de Partie in a hotel, restaurant or high-volume brunch operation.
  • Confidence cooking eggs to order, grill and pass work under pressure.
  • Genuine morning energy, reliability and a calm head at 7am.
  • A working knowledge of food hygiene, allergens and HACCP, with a Level 2 Food Safety certificate or the willingness to gain one.
  • Strong communication and a team-first attitude.
  • Availability for early starts, including weekends on a rota basis.
  • The right to work in the UK.

What We Offer:

  • £17.50 per hour OTE, made up of base pay plus tronc.
  • Part-time hours with early finishes, giving you your afternoons and evenings back.
  • 28 days holiday per year, pro rata, including bank holidays.
  • Meals on duty and uniform provided.
  • Generous food and beverage discounts across the White Rabbit Projects and White Rabbit Hospitality portfolio.
  • Structured training and development through our learning platform, All Gravy.
  • Employee assistance programme and wellbeing support.
  • Refer a friend bonus scheme.
  • Workplace pension.
  • A kitchen culture built on respect, not shouting.

Breakfast is where a lot of great chefs build their foundations, and it is also where we spot the people we want to grow. With hotels and restaurants across the UK and Lisbon, and new openings on the horizon, there is real scope here to move into a Chef de Partie role, take on more sections, or step across to another site within the group. If you want a part-time role that still counts as a career, this is it.
