Make the best drinks in the Wharf, in one of London's most striking bars.
We're looking for a Bartender to join the team at Locke Canary Wharf. This is a hands on role for someone who genuinely enjoys the craft, from a properly built Negroni to a perfectly poured pint at the end of a long Friday. You'll work across a bar that serves guests, long stay residents, local office crowds and weekend visitors, and you'll earn an OTE of Β£14.50 per hour.
Who we are
We're White Rabbit Hospitality, the team behind some of the UK's most celebrated hotels and restaurants, including Rusacks St Andrews, The Randolph Oxford and Graduate Cambridge. At Locke Canary Wharf, we run the bar and restaurant, a design led space in E14 with real personality. As Bartender, you're a big part of why people come back.
Why this role is different
This isn't a role where you pour, smile and repeat. Because many of our guests stay for weeks rather than nights, you'll build genuine regulars, learn what they drink before they ask, and have a say in what goes on the menu. One shift is a relaxed evening with residents, the next is a packed after work rush. If you want to develop your bar craft somewhere that will actually listen to your ideas, this is it.
What we stand for
Our values aren't a poster on the wall. They show up in every shift, every round and every drink that leaves your bar.
Our Values, Behind the Bar
- HOSPITALITY IS AT OUR CORE: You make people feel welcome the second they sit down, whether it's their first night in London or their fortieth.
- WE DO THE RIGHT THING: You serve responsibly, look after your teammates, and keep your section clean and safe even when it's flat out.
- WE PURSUE EXCELLENCE: Every drink to spec, every glass polished, every garnish right. Consistency is the job.
- WE ARE ALL ENTREPRENEURS: You notice the bottle that isn't selling, the quiet Tuesday that could be something, the guest who'd love the new special. Then you speak up.
What Will You Be Doing?
Running your section through service and making sure every guest gets the same standard, however busy it gets.
- Making cocktails, serving beer, wine and spirits to a consistently high standard
- Looking after guests at the bar, taking orders, making recommendations and reading the room
- Setting up and closing down the bar, including prep, garnishes, stock rotation and cleaning
- Keeping on top of stock levels and flagging what's running low
- Handling payments accurately and keeping your till tidy
- Working closely with the kitchen and floor team so service runs smoothly
- Serving responsibly and following licensing, allergen and food safety standards
- Getting involved in menu ideas, specials and training sessions
What Do You Need?
- Some bar experience in a restaurant, hotel, cocktail bar or high volume pub
- A real interest in drinks and a willingness to learn cocktail specs properly
- Confidence talking to guests and a friendly, natural manner
- The ability to stay calm, accurate and quick when the bar is three deep
- Reliability, good timekeeping and a team first attitude
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and the occasional late finish
- The right to work in the UK
What We Offer:
Aside from an OTE of Β£14.50 per hour we provide:
- Paid training and structured development behind the bar, including cocktail and wine training
- Genuine progression into Senior Bartender, Bar Supervisor and beyond across our properties
- Employee assistance programme and wellbeing support
- Refer a friend bonus
- Team socials, competitions and supplier trips
- A supportive People Team and a management team that backs its team members
Where this takes you
Plenty of our Bar Managers and Supervisors started exactly where you are now. We promote from within wherever we can, and with sites across London, Oxford, Cambridge, St Andrews and Lisbon, there's real room to grow. Tell us where you want to go and we'll help you get there.
Ready to Pour Something Better?
If you want to build your bar career somewhere that takes drinks seriously and looks after its people, we'd love to hear from you.
