Role

  • Full time permanent vacancy, all year round employment.
  • Report to onsite Maintenance Manager.
  • Work 8:00–16:30, 5 days per week including Saturdays.
  • Prime responsibility: Ensure the hotel's grounds, carparks, gardens, and driveways are clean, tidy, well‑manicured and weed‑free.
  • Use petrol sit‑on and handheld lawn mowers to keep lawns tidy.
  • Ensure lawn edges trimmed and well maintained.
  • Arrange lawn treatments in spring and autumn.
  • Hedge trimming, leaf clearance, border weeding.
  • Use petrol strimmer and hedge cutter for shrubs and woodland areas.
  • Seasonal planting in pots and borders at hotel entrance.
  • Maintain garden furniture and store for winter months.
  • Dispose of all garden refuse safely.
  • Maintain gravel driveway, rake as needed to present guests.
  • Minor pruning of trees, clear fallen trees; major work handled by tree surgeon.
  • Maintain tools and equipment.

Requirements

  • Fitness and stamina for outdoor work year round.
  • Methodical and well‑managed working methods to maintain priority areas.
  • Own transport (mileage paid) to collect supplies.
  • Courteous and friendly manner when working in guest areas.
