£28,000 per annum + monthly service charge payment + local business travel allowance

The Role:

Join us in this new role of Business Development Manager with the key responsibility of proactively securing local business events for the hotel. This will be achieved by using your previous hotel sales experience to identify new opportunities, generate leads and strategic partnerships locally. Reporting to the onsite Sales and Events Manager, with close liaison with the hotel’s General Manager and the group Sales and Marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market and opportunity analysis
  • Lead generation and prospecting
  • Relationship management
  • Sales and proposal development
  • Sales pipeline and target management
  • Collaboration with in‑house sales team and our group’s national/international sales and marketing teams to ensure sales success
  • Attendance at local trade and networking events to create contacts/sales leads for local businesses
  • Setting up/hosting local business networking events at the hotel

Requirements:

  • Permanent role, 4 days, 32 hours per week. Flexible days based on activity required each week
  • Previous sales generation experience in a fast‑paced hotel/events environment is essential to be considered
  • Smart appearance and friendly telephone manner
  • Strong negotiation and organisational skills with strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in interaction within house teams and business clients
  • A confident self‑starter able to be proactive and resilient to deliver results
  • Proficiency with CRM software and other sales tools
