Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa, part of Alexander Hotels, is a private group of quality hotels of distinction just outside London. It is a 5 Red Star Hotel with an award-winning Utopia Spa, featuring 57 bedrooms including the new luxury Cedar Lodge development and a 2-bedroom self-contained Gatehouse. The hotel has 2 award-winning restaurants: Reflections Restaurant (2 Rosette x 60 covers) and AG’s Restaurant (3 Rosette x 35 covers), along with a range of conference, banqueting, and private dining rooms catering for 8 to 95 guests.

The Role:

You will be assisting full-time Bartenders during busy periods in our '1608' Cocktail Bar, offering food and beverage tray service to spa guests, hotel residents, and visitors. Shifts will be available during the daytime, evening, and weekends, depending on your availability and the levels of business in the hotel each week.

Main Duties Include:

  • Ensuring the Bar is stocked ready for each service period
  • Ensuring the Bar and Lounge are well presented for guests' arrival
  • Completing all pre-preparation for service
  • Meeting and greeting guests entering the bar
  • Establishing guest needs and taking orders
  • Preparing both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including cocktails
  • Providing tray service of drinks across the service areas
  • Serving light lunches and snacks in the bar lounge
  • Liaising with the Restaurant regarding guests taking pre-dinner drinks
  • Taking payment for all food and beverages served or arranging for charging to resident guests' accounts
  • Adhering to the Mystery Guest Standards for the Bar
  • Balancing your till and guest charges
  • Ensuring guest areas are left in a presentable state at the end of your shift

Requirements:

  • Smart appearance
  • Good communication skills
  • Beverage/bar knowledge and experience required
  • Hotel or quality bar experience preferred
  • Ability to work daytime and evening shifts including weekends
