Would you like to join an Academy with an extremely positive staff survey response around Leadership support, alignment, vision and investment from staff as well as a Leadership Team who understand that work-life balance is important to getting the best outcomes for all?
Rated 'Good' in all areas by OFSTED (July 2023), the academy has a relentless focus on high standards in all that we do. Built on the values of ambition, respect and resilience, we have a strong and growing reputation in our local community for very high expectations from our students in terms of behaviour and respect, whilst striving hard to be inclusive and ensure that the students are aspirational for their futures.
We are looking to recruit an Art Teacher (with opportunity to deliver KS4 Art and/or GCSE Photography) to teach across the ability range, supporting the development of Art/Photography to the highest standards for all pupils at Key Stage 3 and 4. You will support the Curriculum Area Leader of Art and Technology to continue to develop our already flourishing department.
The Albion Academy is located in the heart of Salford just 2 miles from Manchester City Centre. We provide high quality education to 11–16-year-olds from across the city. We are proud of our modern building with excellent facilities which were designed with learning and development in mind. We have recently undergone significant refurbishment of the site and are continuing with this work into 2025-2026 to ensure our facilities meet our ambition for students and staff.
We are part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England. Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.
There is strong practice throughout the trust, allowing our staff to develop quickly and accelerate their career progression. As a Group, we can reward our staff better with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It’s an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’. We are working hard to become a more diverse organisation – which is key to our commitment to bringing out the best in everyone. We welcome applications from everyone committed to this ethos and would particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic candidates, who are currently under-represented in the Group as a whole. We always appoint on merit.
