Contract: Full-time, permanent
Working environment: In person
About Alacrity
The Alacrity Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation with a big ambition: to create and grow innovative businesses, develop entrepreneurial talent and make a meaningful contribution to the Welsh economy.
Our environment is fast-paced, entrepreneurial and full of ideas. On any given day, you could be surrounded by founders building new technology companies, investors visiting the office, mentors sharing their expertise, an event being planned or a new programme getting ready to launch.
We work hard, move quickly and like people who are happy to get involved. We are now creating a brand-new role or someone who wants to be right at the centre of it.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an organised, creative and enthusiastic Executive & Brand Assistant to support our CEO and work closely with our Brand Manager.
This is an ideal early-career opportunity for someone who wants hands‑on experience across executive support, content creation, social media, events, marketing and the startup world. You do not need years of experience - we are looking for potential, personality, initiative and someone who is excited to learn. Because this is a completely new position, you will have the opportunity to grow with it, bring your own ideas and make the role your own.
What you'll be doing
Executive & Team Support
- Support the CEO with diary management, meetings and appointments.
- Help coordinate meetings with founders, investors, partners and stakeholders.
- Assist with travel, events, presentations and meeting preparation.
- Keep track of actions and help follow up on agreed next steps.
- Support day-to-day correspondence and administration.
- Learn how to anticipate priorities and help keep a busy organisation moving.
Brand, Social Media & Content
- Work alongside the Brand Manager to create engaging social media content.
- Capture photos and short‑form video around the office and at events.
- Help tell the stories of Alacrity's founders, startups, mentors and alumni.
- Create and schedule content for LinkedIn and other relevant channels.
- Support the content calendar, campaigns and programme promotion.
- Spot interesting moments and turn them into content with personality.
- Learn and use tools such as Canva and simple video‑editing platforms.
Events & Community
- Help organise events, workshops, investor days and networking sessions.
- Support guest lists and communications with speakers and attendees.
- Capture content before, during and after events.
- Help create a brilliant experience for everyone who comes through our doors.
Who we're looking for
We are much more interested in the person and their potential than a perfect CV. You may be starting your career, finishing university or college, or already have some experience in administration, marketing, social media, hospitality or events and be ready for your next step.
- Brilliantly organised and reliable.
- A confident written communicator.
- Naturally interested in social media and content.
- Comfortable taking photos and filming short videos on a phone.
- Friendly and confident meeting new people.
- Full of initiative and willing to learn.
- Able to juggle different tasks and stay on top of the detail.
- Happy in a fast‑moving environment where no two days are quite the same.
- Someone who brings energy, ideas and a 'get stuck in' attitude.
What you'll get
This is a role you can genuinely grow into. You will work directly with senior leaders, entrepreneurs, investors and some of the most exciting early‑stage businesses being built in Wales.
You will gain real‑world experience across startups, investment, technology, marketing, events, entrepreneurship and business growth - often all in the same week. You will be encouraged to bring ideas, experiment, learn quickly and take on more responsibility as your confidence grows.
The culture
Alacrity is professional when it needs to be, but we are not interested in unnecessary formality. We are a small team working alongside ambitious founders, so we value people who are positive, proactive and prepared to muck in. If you want to come to work, meet interesting people, create things, learn quickly and and become an important part of a growing entrepreneurial community, we would love to hear from you.
