The Agora Clinic is looking for a caring, organised and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly Fertility and Gynaecology team. This is a varied role combining both clinical and administrative responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with patients while also ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of a busy specialist clinic.

Working alongside our experienced fertility nurses, consultants and wider multidisciplinary team, you will help provide a welcoming, efficient and supportive environment for patients undergoing fertility treatment. No two days are the same. One day you may be assisting with patient appointments and theatre lists, while the next you could be managing patient records, answering telephone enquiries or preparing treatment rooms.

The Role

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will support the nursing team in both clinical and administrative tasks across the clinic. Your role is essential in ensuring patients receive a positive experience from their first appointment through to treatment, while helping the clinical team deliver safe, efficient and high-quality care.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your duties will include a mixture of clinical and administrative responsibilities, including:

  • Clinical Support
    • Assisting nurses and consultants during patient clinics and procedures
    • Performing phlebotomy (blood collection)
    • Preparing treatment and consulting rooms
    • Assisting during theatre sessions, including egg collection procedures and patient recovery
    • Supporting patients before and after procedures
    • Chaperoning patients during examinations when required
    • Ensuring clinical areas are stocked, clean and ready for use
  • Administrative Support
    • Answering patient telephone calls and responding to routine enquiries
    • Taking messages for the nursing team and directing calls appropriately
    • Booking patient appointments for scans, blood tests and procedures
    • Maintaining accurate electronic patient records
    • Scanning and uploading clinical documents and laboratory results
    • Preparing patient notes for clinics and theatre lists
    • Filing and maintaining clinical documentation
    • Assisting with treatment planning administration and data entry
    • Recording pregnancy outcomes and other treatment information
    • Monitoring clinical stock levels and ordering supplies

About You

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a busy healthcare environment and takes pride in providing excellent patient service. You will have:

  • At least one year’s experience as a Healthcare Assistant within a hospital or clinical setting
  • Good IT skills and confidence using electronic records systems
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • A caring, professional and empathetic approach
  • The ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience in phlebotomy (preferred)
  • An interest in women’s health or fertility is desirable, but previous fertility experience is not essential as training will be provided.
