The Agency is recruiting on behalf of a successful and expanding precision engineering company for an experienced CNC Miller / CNC Setter Operator. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business that continues to invest in the latest CNC machinery, technology and its people. You'll be producing high-quality precision-engineered components for a wide range of industries within a well-equipped workshop.
The Role
As a CNC Miller, you'll be responsible for setting and operating CNC machining centres, producing precision components to tight tolerances while maintaining exceptional quality, efficiency and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC milling machines and CNC machining centres
- Edit CNC programs and tooling offsets where required
- Manufacture precision-engineered components to engineering drawings
- Produce components to tight tolerances
- Carry out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks
- Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Maintain quality, productivity and health & safety standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Work closely with production and quality teams
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience as a CNC Miller, CNC Setter Operator, CNC Machinist or CNC Milling Machine Operator
- Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines or machining centres
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Reliable, motivated and able to work as part of a skilled engineering team
Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Hurco, Heidenhain, Mazak or similar CNC controls would be advantageous.
