- Position: Head of Programmes (CMDP) Mat-Cover
- Level: 6
- Salary: £40,000 – £46,000 per year (FTE)
- Reports to: Director of Programmes & Partnerships
- Location: The Liberation Centre Brixton, London (remote working in the UK with at least two days onsite)
- Contract: Fulltime (40hrs/week), fixed‑term maternity cover for 1 year with possibility of part‑time extension
- Hours: Flexible with some evenings and weekends; extra hours reimbursed as Time off in Lieu (TOIL)
- Start Date: As soon as possible (June if convenient)

We are an activist youth movement working to build grassroots youth organising. The Head of Programmes will lead the Changemaker Development Programme (CMDP), delivering training, coordinating projects, managing budgets, ensuring safeguarding and creating an environment that empowers young people to enact change.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the CMDP programme.
- Coordinate planning and delivery with Associate Directors.
- Standardise processes and practices across the department.
- Design recruitment and alumni engagement strategy.
- Monitor and evaluate outcomes, integrating learning into the programme.
- Deliver a holistic safeguarding, wellbeing and pastoral care strategy.
- Manage the CMDP budget within procedures, escalating as required.
- Oversee learning design and delivery.
- Design curriculum in partnership with stakeholders.
- Support alumni changemakers in designing and delivering social justice workshops.
- Develop learning journeys and manage event scheduling during school holidays and evenings.
- Manage Changemakers and Community Organisers.
- Co‑create programme spaces with young people.
- Oversee and report on staff performance.
- Maintain accurate financial reporting and budgeting.
- Foster pastoral care and relationship building.
- Represent the Academy in relevant events and media.
- Develop the Leadership Development Framework.
- Create curriculum aligned to strategic goals.
- Establish pedagogical approaches and resources.
- Facilitate continuous improvement through feedback.
- Operate programmatic activities efficiently.

- Strong project management and cross‑team collaboration.
- Excellent organisational skills handling multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with Gmail, Google Workspace, Canva and Slack.
