Contract: 12 month Fixed term contract, working full time on site

Our client, a leading energy provider in the Wokingham area, requires a Junior Systems Engineer to join their team during an exciting transformation period. The role involves creating cleaner, greener systems that serve generations to come. As a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) engineer, you will operate a critical national infrastructure for the real‐time operation of the electricity transmission system, ensuring safety and system security standards are always maintained.

ResponsibilitiesIn this role you will be responsible for maintaining data, displays and network models, including data analysis, testing, drawing displays and implementation of changes. These analysis tools are used in the Electricity National Control Centre and are critical to the safe, secure and economic operation of the electricity transmission system.

You will also assist the Systems, Support and Insight Team on projects, supporting lead engineers as required.

Qualifications

Educated to degree level, ideally in a STEM related subject (equivalent qualifications will also be considered).

Understanding of power system operation would be beneficial, but not essential.

Knowledge of AutoCAD would be beneficial, but not essential.

Good understanding of system and data.

Good understanding of database structures.

A detail‐oriented mindset.

A passion for problem solving and critical thinking.

The successful candidate will undertake extensive training as part of this role.

Enhanced security checks will be required for this role.
