Role Overview
We are seeking a commercially focused Finance Analyst to join a small, collaborative finance team of four. This is a highly visible role with strong stakeholder engagement, working closely with the commercial team to drive business performance and support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial & Performance Analysis
- Analyse revenue, margins, and delivery costs across programmes
- Provide insights on profitability drivers and performance trends
- Support evaluation of new business opportunities
- Management Reporting
- Maintain and improve reporting on:
- Sales and revenue
- Programme performance
- Utilisation and delivery metrics
- Deliver clear, actionable commentary to stakeholders
- Budgeting & Pricing
- Support development of pricing models and commercial proposals
- Ensure appropriate margin assumptions and cost recovery
- Partner with Commercial teams on deal structuring
- Month-End & Financial Control
- Perform programme-level cost allocations
- Support variance analysis (Actual vs Budget/Forecast)
- Ensure data integrity across finance outputs
- Continuous Improvement
- Streamline reporting and financial processes
- Improve use of tools (Excel / Power BI / ERP)
- Strengthen link between Finance and Commercial teams
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong business partnering skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Confident communicator with a commercial mindset
- Advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables)
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics / Business Central
- Power BI experience highly desirable
- Part-qualified accountant with relevant commercial finance experience
- Experience within a product-based business is preferred
- Proactive, innovative, and solutions-focused approach
