Responsible for maintaining a high standard of operational hygiene in all kitchen areas in compliance with Hotel & Hygiene Regulations.
Areas of responsibility include:
- Completing HACCP checklist
- Cleaning fridges, ovens, food mixers, and food stores
- Pot wash and area surrounds
- Rubbish skip areas
- Hygiene in kitchen areas and storage areas
- Emptying all bins, refuse sacks, boxes, etc.
Additional responsibilities:
- Arriving for work ready to start on time, wearing a full clean uniform as per hotel standard in accordance with company grooming policy and wearing appropriate PPE as assigned by the company
- Maintaining a high level of personal hygiene (i.e. changing aprons/hats as required) throughout the duty shift
- Carrying out cleaning duties as outlined in the cleaning schedule and completing daily/weekly cleaning checklists for all cleaning tasks performed
- Cleaning pots, pans, equipment, etc., as required and ensuring they are stored correctly and neatly
- Reporting any damaged equipment to the head chef and/or manager on duty
- Emptying bins when full or as requested
- Thorough deep cleaning as per schedule of kitchen/larder areas, equipment, and storage areas
- Wearing relevant protective clothing provided when handling hazardous materials (e.g. rubber gloves/face masks)
- Attending training sessions/meetings as required
- Reporting any damaged/defective equipment to the Senior Chef on duty
- Ensuring that areas of responsibility are maintained in a safe, hygienic, healthy, and hazard-free manner
- Complying with company policy regarding fire, health & safety, hygiene, food hygiene, and security
- Being aware of and understanding responsibilities outlined in the Health and Safety Statement and Staff Handbook
