Responsible for the day-to-day management of a hotel and its staff. Accountable for budgeting, planning, organising and directing all hotel accommodation and laundry services.Key Duties And Responsibilities Operational: Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness in all areas of the hotel, including rooms, public areas, back of house, staff areas and hotel exterior.Operational: Conduct rigorous checking systems and ensure the team is fully trained in all aspects of the housekeeping department.Operational: Liaise with the front office to coordinate the allocation of accommodation.Operational: Liaise with all other departments within the hotel if and when required.Operational: Manage staff rotas and supervisory cover for the housekeeping department.Operational: Oversee repairs and maintenance of rooms and public areas (dining areas, gym, etc.).Operational: Inspect the hotel daily to meet the highest hygiene, health, and safety regulations.Operational: Recruit and supervise a team of room attendants, linen porters and maintenance in cooperation with the HR department.Operational: Coordinate and arrange laundry and linen supplies. Manage all laundry operations.Operational: Manage hotel lost property as per company policy.Operational: Carry out duty management shifts as required.Planning and Organising: Ensure strict housekeeping SOPs are in place and continually updated and adhered to.Planning and Organising: Ensure all team members attend all training as required by the company.Planning and Organising: Ensure regular team and departmental meetings are held and that minutes of meetings are recorded, followed up and forwarded to the attention of the Hotel Manager.Planning and Organising: Control and analyse departmental costs continuously and implement corrective actions as required.Planning and Organising: Ensure adequate checklists and records are in place.Planning and Organising: Oversee the annual operating budget for the housekeeping department, including key costs such as payroll, energy, stock and supplies.Planning and Organising: Ensure all working materials/equipment, areas, and signage are maintained in good condition.
