Job Description
About the role
As a Financial Accountant, you will support the Financial Controller in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with Greek and Cypriot statutory requirements and internal policies. You will be responsible for day‐to‐day accounting operations, preparation of financial statements, and continuous improvement of accounting processes.
What you'll be doing
- Independently processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll postings, and travel expenses.
- Handling payment transactions, SEPA direct debits, and daily bank account management.
- Performing account reconciliations, including general ledger, asset accounting, expense accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
- Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and Greek GAAP, where applicable.
- Supporting internal and external audits and providing documentation and explanations as required.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns in cooperation with external tax advisors.
- Monitoring, analysing, and correcting accounting errors and contributing to the continuous improvement and optimisation of financial processes.
- Supporting the Financial Controller with administrative and coordinating activities.
- Performing accounting activities using ERP NetSuite (Oracle), ensuring data accuracy and system compliance.
- Managing invoicing and purchasing of software licences, including coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Supporting the accounting insourcing to NetSuite.
Qualifications
What we're looking for
- Strong knowledge of Greek accounting and VAT regulations.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite (Oracle).
- Fluency in Greek and English (written and spoken).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
