The Adam Practice is seeking a new fixed term salaried GP at Lifeboat Quay Surgery; this is a 4 session post covering until May 2026. Our progressive Values help ensure we meet the needs of our patients and community whilst also supporting the health and wellbeing of all staff and the sustainability of a successful Partnership.
Innovation is part of everything we do, from our award-winning Leg Club delivering outstanding wound care to our renowned clinical research programme, which was awarded an Outstanding Contribution Award by Wessex CRN for our work on Covid-19 research. The Practice location combines easy access to the wonderful Dorset countryside, whilst being very close to the edge of Poole town and is in a highly desirable area to live and work in.
The Practice is managed by a capable and efficient centralised Management Team, and we are key members of the Poole Central Primary Care Network with various staff and clinicians directly involved in or leading on PCN work.

Main duties of the job include managing a caseload and dealing with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. To carry out all duties in a professional manner and adhere to all Adam Practice protocols, policies and guidelines at all times.
About us: We are a CQC Outstanding-rated Practice with 40,000 patients and 16 current Partners working across 5 sites. We successfully combine efficiencies of scale with localised continuity and high quality care on individual surgery sites, whilst using a total triage appointment system to ensure acute patients are seen in a timely manner. We have the benefit of nearly 40 years of experience as a large multi-site Practice, providing a secure and stable environment to work in.
Person Specification:
- Qualifications: Fully qualified GP with GMC Registration, General Practice Trained, On Medical Performers List, Current CPR Certificate, Medical Defence Union Cover, Evidence of CPD, GPwSI or other specialist interest qualification.
- Experience: Chronic disease management, Primary prevention and Screening services, Clinical Governance, Delivery of QoF targets, Self-audit, Worked in NHS / Primary Care / General Practice.
- Knowledge of: SystmOne clinical system.
- Other: Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially, Flexible approach and willingness to adjust to the reasonable needs of the practice, Driving Licence.
- Interpersonal Skills: High level of personal emotional intelligence, Reliable and trustworthy, Adaptable, Team Player.
