Clarence George is partnering with a firm in Bermuda who is looking for a senior P&C actuary to join their actuarial team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys getting into the detail of complex P&C work, particularly around internal models, reserving, capital, risk and regulatory projects. The role will suit someone who can operate independently, manage multiple priorities and engage confidently with senior market stakeholders.
They are looking for someone with:
- Full actuarial qualification such as FCAS, FIA, FCIA or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 10 years’ relevant actuarial experience
- Strong P&C insurance/reinsurance background
- Deep internal model experience, ideally across model review, validation, capital setting or regulatory approval
- Strong reserving, capital and risk management experience
- Good understanding of Solvency II and/or Economic Balance Sheet-style frameworks
- Exposure to legacy writers, portfolio transfers, catastrophe risk and/or liquidity risk would be valuable
- Hands-on technical capability, rather than someone looking for a purely managerial role
- Interest in technology, change and improving how technical work is delivered
This would suit a technically strong, commercially minded P&C actuary who wants a senior, varied role with broad market exposure and meaningful technical influence.
