Role
Claims Handler for the Fleet and Specialist product team, responsible for managing motor claims from start to settlement across all heads of damage.
Location: Sevenoaks / hybrid (minimum 3 days in office)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:30pm, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £28,747 – £38,160 DOE plus £2,000 annual bonus potential, achieved quarterly
Responsibilities
- Validate all claims for indemnity and fraud.
- Assess liability and communicate decisions.
- Contact claimants or representatives promptly to establish exposure and ensure key information is updated on the claim file.
- Accurately assess claim quantum using available tools.
- Identify cases where intervening on vehicle losses will reduce overall exposure, using the resource of in‑house motor engineers.
- Minimize indemnity spend through commercial decision making.
- Manage diary proactively to monitor and progress cases.
- Investigate and ensure accurate reserves in line with company guidelines.
- Own personal performance against set objectives.
- Adhere to best practice and key strategies.
- Maintain effective file and portfolio management.
- Co‑coach and mentor less experienced handlers.
- Perform ad‑hoc tasks as the business requires.

- Significant PI and/or credit hire claim experience, commercial market awareness and extensive knowledge of the Pre‑Action Protocol, Civil Procedure Rules, and hourly rate costs.
- Experience handling injury claims outside of the Low Value Personal Injury claims portal.
