Are you looking to embark on a journey as a Claims Handler?
We have opportunities to be part of fast paced and energetic teams within our first and third party Claims departments. We are looking for people with excellent customer service and resolution skills, who will treat our customer fairly with empathy and respect.
You will focus on what matters most to the customer, consider the commercials when either resolving calls, settling claims or managing portfolios and role model a ‘quality comes first’ mindset at all times. You will be solutions-focused ensuring to take the right route (which is not always the easiest one) and make things simple for our customers, removing barriers wherever possible.

Role: Claims Handlers

Location: Liverpool or Sevenoaks

Working hours: Full time, – 37.5 hours per week; shift patterns. Shifts are dependent on department area.
Either –
Monday to Friday on rota basis 8.00am – 8.00pm, 1 in 3 Weekends 9.00am-5.00pm
or Monday to Friday 8:00am to 6:00pm, 1 in 4 Saturdays 9.00am-5.00pm
or Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:30pm

Salary: £25877-£27,554 per annum plus the opportunity to earn a performance related bonus dependent on department, paid on a quarterly basis, once established within your role.

What you will be doing:

  • Providing a professional and proactive response in assessing claims in line with policy and procedure
  • Providing an empathetic service to clients who have been involved in road traffic incidents
  • Liaise with external companies and internal departments in a timely and professional manner in order to effectively process the customers claim notification
  • To resolve any issues avoiding expressions of dissatisfaction escalating into complaints
  • To monitor and manage claims ensuring all services are provided in an agreed timescale
  • Assessing new claims in accordance with policy terms and conditions
  • Handle any complaints in line with FCA guidelines
  • Role modelling expert claims handling of complex claims, such as overseas, single vehicle/water damage and unvalidated claims
  • To work as a team to proactively manage a portfolio of policyholder accidental damage claims through to settlement
  • Acting as the contact point/escalation for third party suppliers/contracts
  • Validate all claims for indemnity and fraud.

• Proactive and correct assessment of liability.
• Accurate quantum assessment of claims presented using the relevant tools available to assist.
• Application of accurate reserves in line with company guidelines.
• Adherence to best practice and key strategies.
• Effective file and portfolio management.

What we’re looking for:

  • Excellent customer service skills, naturally empathetic and the ability to connect with people
  • Positive can-do attitude and motivated self starter
  • Have the ability to make fast, informed decisions
  • Good sales, negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Have a desire to develop skills and experience within the insurance industry.
  • The Ability to deal with challenging customers and either first or third party insurer
  • Relevant experience in a Claims environment or within a role with transferrable skills with a focus on customer services is advantageous
  • PC literate with excellent administration and processing skills
