Purpose of the role
We are actively looking for a Practice Manager with solid and comprehensive small practice experience and skills. The primary responsibility will be to manage a well-established practice in a fast moving environment in two prime London locations. The practice comprises 450 limited company clients and 600 individual clients across two offices. The role offers a varied and exciting client base – media, marketing & communications, property, consultants, travel agents, restaurants, film and business services.
Job Content
• Management of workflows, staff, clients and general administration to ensure both offices are running smoothly on a day to day basis
• To deal with a number of client queries by email and phone and daily prioritisation of work
• Management of in-house team and offshore PTEs
• Meetings by phone, TEAMS and face to face with new and existing clients
• Review of management as well as annual statutory accounts / corporation tax returns
• Review of VAT returns on an ad hoc basis
• Some bookkeeping work when required
• Preparation of self-assessment tax returns and management of SATR workflow
• Responding to LPCs, WWDs and compliance checks
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
• Broad general practise experience needed of limited companies, sole traders, SATRs, VAT, CIS and general personal tax
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks and Xero
• Knowledge of TaxCalc ‘nice to have’ but not compulsory
• Solid knowledge of self assessment preparation and submission to include issues related to high net worth individuals, non-domiciled individuals and more complex tax issues
• Experience in communication with HMRC with regards to various disclosures
• Ability to communicate professionally and efficiently face to face and by email
• Highly organised and disciplined and preferably experience of previously managing a team
• Patient and detailed approach to managing, training and developing staff
• ‘Can do’ attitude to get stuck in and service the needs of both clients and staff to contribute to the success of the practice
