Are you an Assistant Management Accountant / Management Accountant looking for a varied role within a growing private equity backed SME? Awesome role for a confident part qualified / finalist / newly qualified in an SME amid change and modernisation. You'll have an excellent mentor in the current FD – a manager who will hugely impact your development and future career opportunities.
This is an agile and ambitious business (currently £25m turnover). You will be the "number 2 in finance" – supporting a modern thinking Finance Director in overhauling all existing controls, reporting and management information. It’s a chance to be part of a journey of growth and investment (and you will gain useful exposure to a PE cycle and everything that comes with it!).
The business is profitable and trading well, they have an ambitious leadership team and you will be part of projects designed to improve the level and depth of the commercial reporting and MI / insights which guide decision making. You’ll manage a small team and present detailed management accounts to the FD. You'll drill into variances, profit streams, margins, cost drivers; the FD is looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious and proactive accountant who will bring ideas and fresh insights to the table.
You will ideally be studying toward ACCA or CIMA (or recently qualified) and be looking for a varied role in a growth SME. It’s a superb platform for someone who ultimately sees themselves progressing into an FD role down the line. It’s a hands on position and you will need to be comfortable drilling into the numbers and managing a team of 2 transactional finance assistants / clerks.
Required:- Qualified or studying towards ACCA or CIMA.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to use the data to extract meaningful MI and questions for the business.
- A proactive and methodical approach to enhancing systems, processes, controls and reporting.
- A collaborative approach to teamwork and excellent communication skills (it needs to be someone who will enjoy speaking to colleagues across all areas of the business).
- Natural curiosity and drive – you'll be keen to gain commercial understanding of how the business makes its profit and how the FD / MD can drive further growth.
